1098 S Delivered!

Ok,

my 1098 S was delivered today at my dealer. It rocks!!!

First impressions:

-allround finish is very good. It dos not look cheap. (except for the standard heat shield on the exhaust pipes. Wich I am gonna replace as soon as there is a Carbon one available).

-Sound with the Termignoni pipes is very nice!

-the gay red striping seems to be painted on the rims. (wich is a pain in the ass)

-sitting possition is equal to a F4 from MV. Difference is that the pegs are placed more backwards compaired to the F4.

-the dash looks very nice!

-in real life it didn't look like a "RR" from Honda.

Can't tell anything more. My tires were not mounted yet. I will try to make a testride 2 morrow or next thursday.

Pictures will be posted within an hour, be patient guys

The sound:

Can't wait to see them. You are a lucky guy Peet. My "S" does not get here until March or April, but then the weather here at the moment is crap so all I would end up doing is staring at it in my garage for the next few months until the weather gets better and the road salt has all gone. I did sit on the "S" that arrived at my dealer today (impressions are in another post I just put up) and all I can say is it's a lonnnnnnnnng time to April !! Have fun and enjoy it and let us all know what you think, as you may well be the "virgin" of riding impressions posts on this forum!!

Congrats! I'm (as I'm sure everyone else) is interested in the riding impressions.

PS - I hope it makes more sound than your video clip had. :p

Works fine over here. Shure you don't need another codec in your mediaplayer?

I don't think so ... the video starts and I see someone turn the key on, then the video ends. I'll try downloading it instead.

Update -- downloading instead of playing directly worked. Damn, she shounds mean as hell!

Jeez that means if the full FFO system adds 11bhp as has been stated, then max output will be around 158bhp...Yikes!!!!

Peet looks great. Bet you are really pleased. Are they slip ons on the bike as the EXUP valve and cables are still in place? Sounds awesome!!!! Lucky you and judging by the smile on your face I would say you are very happy man.

Yes,

I did not buy the 70mm exhaust pipes. And yes, I am very happy!

Biga, I believe that I read somewhere that it does not display the selected gear. Peet can tell us for sure. However, I'm thinking that the display is completely configurable and would be amenable to a software upgrade from our Italian friends. DNA, are you listening? Talk to Bologna!

Peet, you are the MAN!:biggrin

According to the Owner's Manual, I'd so no gear selection indicator ... only shift lights.

BTW -- anyone can download the OM from Ducati's website.
