what a bunch of tools... or as they would say, wankers.

The rider, as it were didn't know shit about the bike. He could only point out the shit that already had a label on it!

wheelies down the straights, knee up in the corners, and wet?

that test

I got to go for a ride in my buddy's GTR a few weeks ago - that thing corners like nothing I've ever been in. Absolutely fantanstic car for the money considering it costs the same a Z06 and it'll run circles around that thing.

The video was rather bogus though. It's not a fair to compare a bike and a car on a wet track....

If it was totally dry, 1098S would cut a few seconds off.
But GTR will still be faster. Not on a straight away of course.

Maybe if Bayliss was piloting that 1098S it would've been a different story! Seriously though, the GTR is a badass car and everybody knows that cars go around corners quicker than bikes...just watch how fast F1 cars go around the same circuits that Moto GP bikes race and watch the huge difference in lap times

However, I think if this same test were conducted on a larger, faster track such as Big Willow, the 1098S would've won.

If the "test" was held at Phillip Island the car wouldn't see the bike for dust!!

now that you guys mention it, that track did look more like a go cart track than a proper racing circuit.

Bottom line, I've never seen any car out run a bike on a track unless the car made legit downforce...

He could have got round them corners a hell of a lot faster. I rekon they should get rossi and let him try and follow rossi round the track in car with his camera and then hear his comentry about corners when rossi puts him to shame.

To say the track was wet is instantly in the cars favour. Even harder to get drive out of tighter corners.

I Personally believe the video with the gtr vs 1098s is a load of garbage. Just look at the cbr1000rr against a car with james toesland. He was showboating and stuff but over a full lap the bike was 8 seconds quicker.

I think the rider makes such a big difference on a bike for lap times. Maybe the car is a bit faster in the really tight corners but i've not yet met a car on the road that can keep up with my old slow 900ss and that is through the twisties.

Anyway I'd rather a bike anyday as they are much more fun.

Anyone know the price of the GTR? I thought this was kinda top end for the model? If so, wouldn't it have been more accurate to run it against a 1098R or even a Desmo?

About 90k... After driving it, I gave it serious thoughts. Great machine.

I'd love to have one as well. We'll see how the economy treats it.
