My first race of the weekend was HeavyWeight Twins Superbike. I finished fourth behind Geoff May, Emerson Connor and Giovanni Rojas. That is some fast company in front of me and I was very pleased to get into the 34's and collect some valuable points for my championship lead...
The second race did not include May and I was second behind Connor when I crashed on the last lap...
I slide into the tire wall and hit feet first. My feet suffered some fairly bad bruising and both ankles were black and blue the following day as were the bottoms of my feet...
The bike suffered minimal damage since it slide backwards into the wall. The Double Dog Moto Carbon Fiber monocoque tail took a direct hit. The tail section came out with only a few scratches. I contacted Mark at Double Dog Moto and he had me send the tail section back since Carbon Fiber cracks can be hard to see with the naked eye... Well I just heard back from him today and the tail section was run through a bunch of cycles on the test rig and always returned to zero datum so nothing is
wrong with the tailsection... That thing is tough! I can definitely say it is tougher than a steel or aluminum subframe and tail which would of been destroyed or bent.
Thanks to Double Dog Moto and Bellissimoto for getting me back on the track with parts! Big thanks to Ant-Racing for the video cameras and editing... Those Go-Pro HD cameras are tough!
