Ok, I've seen some weird/interesting usernames on this site (and every site really), so I figured I'd start a thread that let's some of you guys explain how you came up with your name.

Ok, I'll start off: Mine is really simple...The "Ice" is because I'm a member of the coldest fraternity on earth (A Phi A), and all of my friends call me "PICK" as it's the first 4 letters of my last name. Lastly, '06 is due to my college graduation year, and also the year my fraternity was founded (1906). :biggrin

I was signing up on a forum late one night and it seems the name I always use was already taken. I sat there wondering what name to use, my dog "Desmo" walked by, and there ya go.

My name is a two part so: I was labeled with the "Rajin" because Ive been told I have a bit of a temper :duh but I believe they are crazy :biggrin and I live in Louisiana south of I-10 hence the "Cajun" so it was born "Rajin Cajun". And I also enjoy it as it was for another famous Cajun "Jamie James" aka Ragin Cajun

HTB - Harry The Bastard.... nick name from work (when I was on the Oil Rigs) which described my apparent pre-disposition for giving people a hard time. Largely unfounded... ahem.
Also the name of the Guy in the BBC TV series 'The Young Ones' that sold the housemates their non-working video...

Nahullo

“Nahullo” a wizard or a spirit that was never living – from the Choctaw language - a Native American tribe. In the more recent Choctaw history (pre European invasion) - Nahullo were a race of giants who tore the limbs off of trees and fought each other until they were extinct.

I have no idea why I picked it… But I never have to worry about someone having my user name on a forum when I register.

Ahhh the back-story…. Its always about a girl, right?:phil

I dated a girl in college who was a member of a Chippewa tribe in Michigan. She got me into researching the Native American part of my heritage. My older brother was doing a lot of research on our family as a whole at the time as well. I found the Nahullo legends/myths and remembered something about it from childhood - visiting relatives in Mississippi back in the early 70s. I barley remember the specifics of stories – but I remember they scared the sh!t out of me...

My ancestors are West African (what is now Angola) and Native American - Choctaw (southern US – Mississippi area) and Lenni Lenape (who were part of the Iroquois nation).

So, the first time I joined a forum – I needed a screen name and took a look at Lenni Lenape and Choctaw myths. I rediscovered the Nahullo legends and thought it was perfect for a screen name.

Wade

The story goes that my Mother was a huge fan of Errol Flynn way back when. His character's name in "Dodge City" was Wade. So she named me after him and that's what I go by; never really had any nicknames.

I live in South Carolina and I'm an EOD tech in the Air Force. Explosive Ordnance Disposal is the military bomb squad. I just got back from Iraq in August and destroyed 80+ roadside bombs while I was there. Not to mention the weapons caches and other items.

CAVEMAN

Why am I the Caveman?

First, I am big.
Second, I do things that only a neaderthal would do
Third, have you ever seen the Caveman in full force...you don't want too!....Unless I am on your side!

01-04-2007, 05:32 PM
My dad flew a Hellcat fighter off US aircraft carriers in WW II.

He told me how when he would take off, he would have is canopy open and as he took off, he would close it. I think of this when I accelerate hard on my bikes with my visor open and close it as I click 2'nd gear.

Thats cool as hell! The hellcat was an awesome plane. Truth be told though, you can out accelerate the hellcat in the 1/4 even if it had an 1/8 mile on you! They didn't catapult launch prop driven planes back then.

I feel kind of none creative. I guess it started at Speedzilla board and I am Phil998 and when I came here it I knew I was moving on to the 1098. Again, not very creative. I had posted almost 4,000 times there and I knew a lot would be coming here and I wanted them to know it was me. Not so sure that's a good thing.:confused
