...after a successful road trip to WDW2007, Some Ducati friends and I are planning their first Road Trip of 2008. We will be doing most of our riding in Germany on the trip and would be grateful for any useful advice regarding things like the attitude of the Police to bikes, speeding on non-motorways and especially to noisy exhausts etc. We thank you in advance.

Be carefull on the German roads the police there isn't very friendly for the bikers.
An open exhaust will cost you a bill of 150 euro(220 dollar) and if you don't have your db-killers with you they will call a truck to bring you to the border so you will have to pay for the truc aswell and for speeding that depends on how much you are over the speedlimit but if it is to high they will impound your bike.
My advice;play safe over there and have fun.
A little movie of them....

I'll echo the need for caution in the Eifel region. The police will impound your bike without a second thought. Can you afford to lose it on a mutli-trip through Europe?
That said, the roads are awesome and go on forever... while you are there make sure you take in the beautiful Moselle Valley which runs off SW towards Luxembourg. Perfect!
