Hi guys. After looking a bit around on this very friendly forum, I think the time has come to jump out into the open. I'm Geert, a 37 years old anesthesiologist with an interest in beautifull cars and bikes (as all of you will have without any doubt!). I ride a 749 MY2004, which is a fabulous smooth ride, but I'm in love with the 1098. I haven't made my mind up about which one to purchase (after wife-approval offcourse!) because of the extra money for the S: I'm not a trackrider, but it looks so damn good!
Merry Xmas! (that won't be a problem for Peet, as I just read!!! Lucky bastard!!)

Hi Geert, and welcome, at least you saved Spalding from having to ask for your first name :) Go for the S you know you want it :) I think we need to take a trip down to Peet for a test ride :)

Welcome Geert :beer
I don't blame you for falling in love with the 1098 :)
If you can afford it get the S, but the base will be more than great so you can't go wrong.
Ah.... and never the mid the wife, it's better to ask for forgivness than permission :biggrin
BTW do you plan to keep the 749 e trade it in for the 1098?
Merry Xmas to you too :)

I will trade it in, despite the fact that I'm convinced it's the best bike I've had up to now (suzuki's-KTM-ducati supersport); but I'm convinced the 1098 will smoothen the pain of loss!
Hey Geert, welkom en groeten uit Gent.
