Man I used to go to that bike night in Frisco's every single Thursday when I had my ZX-10R. In fact, we used to roll like 5 or 6 deep because we were coming from ZX-10R.NET. I rarely saw Ducs at Frisco's and since we have a good sized Socal crew it would be cool to roll through there. I stopped going though because I got a fix it ticket for my lights and the cops there are gay (No offense Will or Kent) and it's partially due to all the squids who like to do burnouts and wheelies in the parking lot like a bunch of fuggin idiots :bitchslap...:shakehead
I have to work late tonight fellas, but maybe next time.

Dude, there were tons of Sheriffs and people were getting massively jacked. When the cops came, about 90% of the people left in a rush like there was a free giveaway on Icon Vests or something down the street. A lot of guys got their bike towed too.
We didn't get harassed because we're on Ducks and the cops knew Duck guys always got their papers in order.
P.S. I don't take offense to any of that cop dissin' because I'm not a cop but I can't speak for SuperKent.

you know would sport the Teknic gear I could see you wearing a Speed Star suit with the matching gloves.
Notorious DSB
08-10-2007, 01:06 AM
Last Teknic suit I had was the Violator and I think I had 2 pairs of Violator gloves which fell apart on me without any reason. The stitching just opened up on me. The suit also failed after a few wearings with the zipper just pulling off. I wrote Teknic a few times on the issues and got ZERO response so I am not buying anymore of their products, period.
1098BANDIT
08-10-2007, 01:10 AM
I'm sorry you had a bad experience with Teknic, from my experience I low sided at streets of Willow last December with my Speed Star and the suit hold up really good no compliants here, too bad I had to sale it since it did not match my new bike, I think is good quality for the price, however each to their own opinion.
Notorious DSB
08-10-2007, 01:13 AM
I did hear the new Teknic stuff is nothing like the old stuff but still, the way they handled it back then did not reflect well on their customer service even if their products have improved.

So here I am taking a little ride and was on my way to meet up with you all on the 60. Well a pretty new red R1 pulls up right next to me, decides to do a wheelie and does about 100-120 towards bike night. I smile and decide to be a little easier on the throttle since i dont want to get pulled over again.
Guess what?! Blue and red lights flash behind me and I'm getting pulled over. For Pete's sake I'm doing 68MPH!!!! Cop pulls me over and is PISSED OFF as he said I did a wheelie right in front of him. I told him it was another bike and he insisted that it was an all red sportbike and that I was the only one he saw. He also laughed at the fact that I "supposely" slowed down once I saw him.
I now have a ticket for reckless driving, speeding (95 once again) and my license taken away if this goes through. Decided to just go home and stare at the wall. What a night.

You better fight that ticket, even if you did that wheelie and your lieing to all of us?
Who cares, thats some serious shit, take it to court and fight it.. I got one, 2 years ago for doing a wheelie, I was shitting it for six month, I had a clean driving record, And I was facing 2 points. Whent to court and the officer didn't show up, I was so happy... But I did the wheelie, so I new I had to pay, luckily I got a second chance... Good Luck...

Must be the Yosh pipes that gave it away. Their sound is very distinctive and the cops have been trained to recognize the AMA Superbike wail. Oh wait... that's for Suzuki. Yosh is for Suzuki, right? Hmmm...
P.S. In all seriousness, fight it. I got jacked once too and it was pure stupidity that I pulled up to a biker down on the freeway and recognized it was my buddy so go up to the Chippies and ask what's up. He starts giving me a hard time about chasing us on the freeway and how dare I run. I was like, how can you be chasing me when I just pulled up? Was there a time warp? Where did you put your brain? He let me go later but I never heard such stupidity.

Yeah...tell them your name is Mark (aka IcePick) and they will suddenly cower in fear and then start complimenting you on how sick that wheelie looked that you just pulled and then start drooling all over your gorgeous 1098 with the sick sounding Leo Vince pipes before ultimately letting you go...but not before giving you $100 bill for wasting 10 minutes of your time for pulling you over in the first place; especially since TIME IS MONEY. Dude, what kind of tires were you running? PPs or PRs? I noticed they tend to start sliding when the variables change so that's why I just used good ole' predictable Dunop Qualifiers. I'm going to Bridgestones next time to see what the hype is about.
Nice to be young like you and Julio and 1stAnt, you guys got the guts to take it to the limit because you're invincible at that age. I worry too much because I hate pain and spending money on parts when you push too hard and crash.

I was running PP's, I'm going back to my regular old 30f/30r setup...seemed to have worked fine at the last trackday anyway. I don't even know why I listened to that Michelin guy, especially on a scorching hot day like Friday (88 degrees in Fontana); the tires heat up quick anyway and get greasy much faster. :shakehead

:lol excuses? it would be an excuse except one of the fastrack instructors who races WERA (just like your boy Will) was running 1:45's before she lowsided at turn 3. I talked to her after the crash and she was running PP's and said the stupid Michelin guy told her 39/37 too which is why she crashed. In all seriousness, that guy should be fired because he could get somebody seriously injured giving them that kind of advice (I've never even heard pressures that high on the street). I let the guy inflate my tires for me and trusted his judgement, after the near highside, I checked them and was :shock at how high he was running them. Anyway, if you can run below a 1:50 on your first trackday at Fontana (it's been done before many times), I'll be very impressed and probably will never make fun of you again. :poke

I was running a new set of Dunlop Qualifiers, which by all reports from Michelin riders, are vastly inferior to the French products. My buddies who ran 143s are using Michelin slicks.
If I can afford it LOL I am going to try a set of the Dunlop NT slicks which are $450/set LOL but I probably can't afford 2 sets LOL!
