www.fastrackriders.com Price = $269 (includes garage).
This track is my favorite as the straight is banking and quite long like Daytona's. Also, it's the closest track for everybody in SoCal so you are there and back in 30-45 minutes. Plus there's a couple of technical turns, but nothing too crazy (unlike Buttonwillow).
Notorious DSB
07-07-2007, 12:06 PM
The best part of Fontana is how safe it is with ample concrete runoffs so you can stay upright if you run it wide and the onsite medical facility with doctor and the trauma center is 10 minutes away. Knowing that lets you push harder, at least I do.
At all the other local tracks BW, WSIR, LVMS, etc. you are hurtin if you go off in that dirt/sand/gravel/broken glass/barb wire that they call runoff and the hospitals are far away.

yea I hate driving for 2 hours to get to the track, I will keep it on mind

The Life Flights are not any better because it takes time for them to dispatch the crew to the chopper then warm up then to get out to the track and then to clear a landing and then loading and then taking off and then landing again...
You're better off going to Fontana with me on Friday, see the BW thread for my calculations to see how you can't deny the reality of the situation.
Did I mention that I am an engineer? No cop can do that kind of math for ya!

Will I hope you have good race and win some good prices.
Good prices are a must!
Race entry fee is $95 and I have a $45 discount on fees because of my standing from last year (2006 Novice Champion in my class) so the fee for 1 race for me is $50.
You get 2 practices (15 minutes) and 1 race (8 lap sprint) so it's like 2 trackday sessions + 1 all-out fast group lapping war on the track for $50. When I go to a trackday I do maybe 6 or 7 sessions for $260... what a deal!
I just want to finish and get points, Nicky Hayden style. This year I bumped into another realm with the heavyweight twins and I need a year to get up to speed. You guys should know, you've seen me in the canyons.
1098BANDIT
07-07-2007, 10:10 PM
that sounds like a really good deal for the same price as a track day u get to do 2 track days and race what a deal!
I suppose u need to have ur racing license?
but u always got to be talking shit!!!!! Nicky Hayden Style LOL

Race license is not that hard to get as long as you show that you have enough experience on the track and you've had some schooling to get you ready.
As for being Nicky Hayden style, all that matters is that at the end, the record books say you're the champion, don't matter how you do it.
You guys know you all love having a wiseacre in your group. Every group needs one!
1098BANDIT
07-07-2007, 10:28 PM
ok Mr. Wisdom! j/k
well hopefully when I have some extra time and get a track bike to race than I could try to get a racing license, so I could get those fat discounts to use the track.
Notorious DSB
07-08-2007, 02:37 AM
You're right, about 2/3 of the track organizations offer some type of racer discount if you have a race license. Most are in the range of $20 or so but it's enough to get some gas and food, right?
We're not all independently wealthy and run daddy's fortune 500 companies like you! Oops... did I let out the secret that you are the heir to the El Pollo Loco fortune ?
I hope you don't get kidnapped because of this....

Dude... it was meant as a diversionary tactic for the kidnappers so they will follow the false leads and go nowhere in their endeavour to kidnap Julio for ransom! Thanks for blowing the whole counter intelligence operation sky high!
Now that the cat's out of the bag, yeah, I know, I've seen Julio's face on several bus stops promising me low mortgage rates and that he'll sell my house for 1.25% commission.

It's uploading now... called "ACH group ride 7.8.07" but I'll post the link when it's done...
Diablo I still dont know if I'm ready for that in the heat and Ara likes to go around to the back side but thats way to far out for me... IMHO the best is from Ojai on the 33 to the "T" section, then back same way...
Anthony,
For me and Diablo from Valencia, my route is shorter. Actually much shorter, but I'll double check.
For us the only other route is the 126 to Santa Paula up to Ojai the the 33.
I'll post the different mileages by tomorrow.
Sunday's ride was fun! :laugh
1st Duc
07-10-2007, 09:38 AM
I got some nice Vid of you Ara... you got that bike on LOCKDOWN...real nice and smooth
Anthony,
You've got to be kidding. I'd love to see that.
By the way Ant, I checked and yes you're right. If we leave Valencia take the 126 to Santa Paula, go el norte on Ojai Road, past Ojai to the 33 to Lockwood Valley Road, it is 19 miles shorter each way (180 miles round trip) but not as scenic than going to Frazier, Lockwood, to the 33 (218 miles round trip) my prefered route.
So, if you or Diablo, Gabe, or anyone else wants to do that this Sunday, let me know.
If no one but me is going to it, then I'll see you's guys at ACH.

Working a lot of OT... we got tons of SpecDets to cover and manpower is short in every division. It's hard to get 2 detectives working around the clock on our cases which is the minimum deployment for major investigations.
For example of some of the open cases:
1. Mafia boss rumored to be out of town, we are pulling double surveillance on his associate who rides a red Ducati 1098 and goes by the street name of The White Devil.
2. White collar crime case involving several cases of real estate fraud in the Hispanic community with a happy, smiling broker who goes by Julio AKA Chorizo Bandito.
3. Police impersonation cases involving a male cruising around on a red Italian bike identified by a "S" after the 1098 designation. So far we have identified a male, late 40s, royally built physique, and always seen in some type of 2 piece riding attire matching his motorcycle. Know by several monikers which are all variations of Arnie, Arnel, Arnuck, NuckFuts, FuttingNucks, NuckFutting, etc.
4. Hit&Run (Hit&Ron?) suspect shows up at local gatherings, tags along without victim's knowledge, then takes off and then comes back the other way to get home by 1200pm when the ride started at 1100am. AKA Q(x25)Man
5. Lastly, notorious threadjacker and freelance terrorist of the asphalt jungle who singlehandedly destroyed the riding careers of many innocent souls on this board, including a famous Doctor who fears for every ride up Palomar that he is trying to plan. Seen wearing mismatched Teknic gear and a Lumberjack doorag under his yellow helmet. Goes by 1stAnt on the streets, real name Duck Guerrero. If seen, do not attempt to apprehend and do not accept checks from this man!

That's f'n funny for a "Post Whoring", Picture Slut"....
