Meaning of name

The name "Söze" resembles the Turkish (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Turkish_%28language%29) word sözel, meaning "verbal," which was Kint's nickname. Additionally, the same term has a Hungarian-sounding pronunciation, when it is spelled with an "ö.". The name "Keyser", derives from the Turkish Ottoman title "Qaysar" [from Qaysar-in-Rum] like the German word Kaiser (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kaiser), which descended from the Latin (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Latin) word Caesar (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caesar_%28title%29), meaning "emperor". The name Kint also resembles the word "King (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monarch)". Thus, Kint's names could mean "Verbal Emperor" or "Verbal King." Although this derivation from the Turkish has been confirmed by the director, some would say that it is entirely from Ancient Greek - "Kaisar sozei" would mean "Caesar/The King saves". This has little relevance to the actual meaning of the name.
Söze's name in the script had originally been "Keyser Sume", the name of a lawyer Christopher McQuarrie had been introduced to while writing the script. It was changed before production.

"oe" is the equivalent of the "ö", at least in German...

So, Söze = Soeze

You are right, it should bi Soze (with "umlaut") but if I remember he was Hungarian, so in this case should be Szose.:dunno

Let's see, must be one of the five.

1) Attilio is such a difficult name to pronounce, Keyser Söze seems so much easier.

2) User id: DickonaDuc was already taken.

3) He identifies with the dark, mysterious, romantic yet dangerous character in the movie.

4) The neighbors dog told him to do it.

OR

5) He has a painfully boring existence and looks for ways to avoid work and goof off on line.
