Is anyone interested in riding Hwy 150/33/154 on Sunday 5/20. We could meet at the Casitas Pass Road exit of Hyw 101 at Hwy 150. I like to ride early in the morning. How about meeting at 8:00 a.m. This would be about 250 to 300 miles, so we would need to plan out fuel stops.

I may be in the area memorial day weekend. If so, I'd love to ride with ya!

I've always wanted to do the full loop. I usually just attack it from either end and only hit the intersection of 166 and 33 when I go dirt riding at Ballinger. If the gas station at New Cuyama were ever closed, I think you'd be stranded on the 1098.
I recommend coming down Tepesquet Rd to Foxen Canyon back to 154 in Los Olivos instead of just taking the highway back through Santa Maria. They've repaved Tepesquet in the past year or so and it is pretty nice.
If anyone makes it to Santa Ynez and is still hungry for more, there are a number of little side excursions throughout the valley, like Figueroa Mountain (past MJs Neverland ranch), Santa Rosa Rd, and Ballard Canyon to name a few. FYI, I live 0.1 miles from the start of Ballard Canyon. Pashnit has some good images of the whole greater SB area over at: http://www.pashnit.com/forum/showthread.php?t=8634
I can't commit fully just yet. Still pending spousal approval. I'd rather meet at 9, but if you get more takers for 8 then so be it.

Duc 848- Hwy 150 meets Hwy 101 at the Lake Casitas exit. There is a good place to meet just off of the road on the ocean side of the 101.
If 9:00 a.m. is a better time then let's meet then. It looks like the weather is going to be cool that morning, which is what I love.
Kevin- You and I are on the same page with the route. The Tempquest turn off is awsome. The last time that I was on Foxen Canyon with my Paul Smart it was a little bumpy. I hope that they have fixed the road. It's still a beautiful area though.
Looking forward to meeting those of you who are interested.:1

I'm in! So we'll plan on meeting at 9am in that open dirt/trail area on the Ocean side of 101 at the Lake Casitas exit just before Carpenteria Ave dead ends.
Part of my reason for wanting to wait till 9 is that all week it has been overcast, foggy, and damp/drizzling in the valley and SB first thing in the morning, but it tends to dry up around 9/10. So far they are forcasting for a clearer, sunnier Sunday.
Should be a great day.
Foxen Canyon is still a little bumpy, but if my Showas can handle it, I'm sure your Ohlins will eat it up and still be hungry for more.
