Now that most folks have their bikes I think it's time we all got together and went for a ride. Whaddayasay???

Let's figure out when, where, time and where we ride to.

I'm open this weekend.

I could be in for next Sunday...

Could a friend of mine come with his black Multistrada S w/ full Termis?

I would not mind giving ACH a try (never been there), but I am open to going anywhere fun. I rather stay away from Ortega at least until construction is over.

I am up for any weekend. I usually ride on Saturdays. Sundays are honey do days if you know what I mean. I'm up for Angeles Crest, PCH but Ortega is a little far for me in a day.

I'm down to ride any Saturday usually. If everybody wants to do this Saturday, I'm game...It sounds weird but I've ridden nearly every other famous road in CA except ACH.

Hey Arnie, you and I can meet up and ride down together if ya want.

We could meet at the Shell station around 10am and go from there...

Not at all! Anything above 75F and you'll start cooking. The suit is only ventilated in the upper chest and the keprotec does not vent as well as the ones on my other suits for some reason. Strange.

Any hotter and I am going to wear my summer suit too, well... as summer as a leather suit can be!

Oh, and I finally got my open clutch kit from MotoWheels and installed it tonight. Now it sounds like a proper Ducati when I pull in the clutch!

What time do you work? We take off at 0930-0945 depending on who's lagging, then we head up at a nice, casual pace and make it usually up to Nuke's by 1030, eat brunch, head to the tree by 1130-1200, and back down to the Shell gas station by 1300 (1pm). People take off early at any point they need to do so.

Sorry about the confusion... I can't make it to the Saturday ride, and the Palm Desert ride on Sunday is too far for me this time.

My plan is to get to the Shell station at the base of ACH around 10am on Sunday morning, got for a nice ride up the crest, have lunch up there. I also need to head back home by 3pm or so. I was wondering if you wanted to join in... :)

Congrats on the open cover. Nice and noisy isn't it? I love all the noises. Ferrari's are noisy too. Well, I should say Melodic. Yeah, that's it!
Anyway Will, if it does cool down, I'll be Loris. If not, Loris will have to wait.
I really love the look of that suit and can't wait to try it out.

It's not as noisy as on some older Ducati bikes that I have heard, maybe as the plates wear in, it'll get louder from the looser tolerances?

I'm going to try my Sahara vest tomorrow to add some cooling if it gets 85F or so. It's pretty cool, I suggest you look into one if you don't have it already for summer.

It's the vest with the cooling polymers that you soak in water and it evaporates as you ride, cooling your body down by 15F or so.

Will good to meet you today...it was definitely fun (minus the wind, freezing temperatures, and crash in the group, and waiting for the helicopter to leave, and...:laugh ). ACH is really fun, glad I finally did it. You should come down to our neck of the woods so we can do Palomar next time.

Who was involved in the crash?!? Are they ok?

We saw two incidents today. We didn't know any of them and they weren't in our group.

First one the guy had a broken collarbone and was life flighted out. Probably had some other serious injuries.

Later on another guy (wasn't in our group either) low sided into a guard rail. He was okay, his gear saved him. He had a huge hole on the side of his boot but he was up and walking.

Doing the Ride for Kids tomorrow at Torrance. It's a charity thang.

The first guy apparently ran his red gixxer off the road while the second guy just lowsided when his rear stepped out on the R1. The weird part is that it was the INSIDE of the boot where his ankle was that got worn through to the foot. I can see the bloody skin on top of where that ankle bone is.

I would ride Pally but you would end up waiting for me again. If you think I'm slow now, wait until you get me on a road that I have never been on!

Let me search for the link and I'll send it to you asap.

Thanks. Naw, you're not slow...the pace of the group was good today (not too fast, not too slow) IMO. After the two crashes and the crazy wind, I slowed down a little. Palomar is cool though because you can ride up and down like 5 times--as it is a much quicker sprint then the Crest--so you'll learn the turns pretty fast.

I told him just get the 1098s, he can afford it. But he says he is too busy to ride, so I guess we are lucky that way to be able to afford it and have time to ride.

Icepick, he says he's going to look up the site for you when he gets back home. He's on a business trip now.
