Thanks shogan,

I'm in the 1945 so whew. I'd imagine it would be some of the 1098S models as they came in first.

Thanks for the info! You'd think my local dealer would contact me instead of me having to read it on a thread on the internet!

That's lame. I'm gonna email him right now.

DuanneB, i have previously experience with recalls on some of my aprilia's. The only way i found out about any of them was when i took the bike back with the fault - I would get, " yes their is a recall on that part". Never did i receive a phone call or a letter in the mail. My experience is Aussie imports only warrant issues when they have to, ie when you identify them. Not good enough i say.
Still, this does not detract from the experience, enjoy!!!!!

Somewhere else on this forum their are threads about "Bike" magazine pulled apart a 1098 a noticed the tensioners where out of round from touching the cylinder covers. Gold coast Ducati should have the recall to fit new tensioners to your bike. I noticed other members on this forum with early deliveries are having it done.( Belgium i think.)

Keep us informed of your experience with this.
Cheers, Shane.

This is not only an Aussi problem, when I call dealer about issues, answer is always : "Oh, yeah, first time I heard about it."
Common, I am not buying that. Therefor I am glad these forums exist, it's a lot easier than 10 years ago to get information
... and POINT THE DEALER TO THE FACTS ... :ninja

Every other manufacturer (eg cars) have an obligation to notify customers of recalls, so what's the difference? Under the trade Practices Act, I would have thought it was mandatory?

I got this response from Ducati Adelaide, so at least they've acknowledged it: I don't think this would be correct as I had my service before this recall.

Hello Duanne
I believe that Paul has already inspected your bike at the first service. I will check with him on Tuesday and confirm this for you.
