Another Calgary Greeting!

Hello all

I'm from Calgary, Alberta, Canada. I currently ride a 2004 749 Dark. Up until the release of the 1098; I had purchased and was waiting for a Team Edition 999S but given the specs of the 1098, it didn't make sense (to my mind) to follow through with the 999S TE.

To that end, I'm going to wait and let Ducati work out some bugs on the new machine, track and race my 749 Dark this year, and then pick up a 1098S in the spring of next year at which point I will ride the wheels off the beast at the track as well.

I look forward to contributing where and when I can.

From another Calgarian! Looks like there are two of us now coming out of the deep freeze!

I too was waiting for the T/E and love how that one I saw looked...but 160 hp and LESS weight? Gotta go with the 1098.

Thanks very much for the warm welcome! I think Ducati has a real winner on their hands with the 1098. Though I won't have one for the better part of a year yet, I will get some chances to get some seat time on 1 or 2 on the street and more importantly on the track.

It will be very interesting to read peoples first impressions when the bikes first start rolling off the showroom floors.
