Otay lakes road / hwy 94 SoCal

Anyone ridden this road from Chula Vista all the way to 8 ? Looks pretty twisty on the map so I'm kinda curious if it's worth going to.

That's my backyard! :slam I-805 to Telegraph Canyon. That road can take you all the way out southeast to Tecate, spit you off west at Spring Valley-I-8 or cross it and head all the way up Sunrise Hwy to Mt Woodson, Mt Laguna all the way to Julian.

It's a very nice road with a little bit of everything! :thumbup

Here's a map once you get past Telegraph Canyon and Hunte Parkway it's a very fast section up until you get to past Barrett Summit and then it starts to get nice.

Yeah if you stay on Telegraph canyon, it'll split to either Spring Valley or Tecate/Barrett Junction. If you continue on Campo Rd (94) towards Barrett Junction past the summit, past Potrero it'll take you to Sunrise. It's about a good 20-25 mile stretch. Once you cross the 2nd Border Patrol check point, it starts to run parallel to the 8. At ths point it then becomes Sunrise Hwy which crosses the I-8 and then heads up in elevation passing through the east part of Mt Woodson, Mt Laguna then to Julian.

yeah i think that streach is called old hwy 80...

or since your coming from the north (i assume) you can hit palomar, to julian, take the 79 until sunrise splits off, take sunrise through across the 8 and all the way into the old 94 back to civilization. sunrise is a nice stretch of road, and empty every time ive been.
