I've noticed a lot of people using the word "Jap" to substitute for "Japanese" but are you aware that Jap is a derogatory term for Japanese people? It's just as bad as saying "Ni**er," "D*go," "Sp*ck," and so forth.
If you meant it in that way, well, can't help everybody; but if you typed/used it on accident, just thought I'd let you know.
Seems like the Mods try really hard to keep this place clean and respectful, it'd suck to see people muck it up with inadvertant (or intentional) racial slurs.

i appreciate your concerns and wholeheartedly agree with you about the need to be very sensitive to all others on this forum.
you User CP, however... makes me wonder why you take the time to start this thread
we like to keep this place
honest
personal
.... did i mention, HONEST
so,
what is your FIRST name?
where are you from?
i don't mean to be offensive to YOU by asking....
it's just the we don't appreciate anonymity around here
this place is quickly becoming a "family"
knowing more about YOU would keep up that march toward sanity on the net
once again.....
i'm sorry if anyone here was insensitive and hurt someone's feeling by being insensitive about their choice of words
let's all try to keep this forum a place of which we can all be proud

Hmmm..... i didn't knew that.
Sometimes i use the word Jap, but only refering to bikes, not Japanese people. And i think 99,9999% of us that use Jap don't mean to offend anyone.
But thanks for the info. :)

hahaha, I like your title... explains a lot, from jump.
I'm Ryan from SoCal.. LA.
Really, I'm not quite sure what wasn't honest about my UserCP or this thread, but I'll play ball.
Regardless, there might be some "anonymous" users that don't want to have anything to do with this forum because they are offended by a racial slur or don't feel comfortable giving out their personal info over the internet. just my .02

Ryan....
i appreciate knowing a bit more about you
i fully understand "anonymous" users... and their reasons (whatever they might be) for wanting to remain "in the shadows of the 'net"
i AM glad, however, that you brought the racial slur issues to our attention.
there already are folks from all over the globe involved in this fledgling effort and tolerance something this world sorely lacks
thanks for being here and helping us do things the RIGHT way
I would say as as long as you are referring to bikes and not people the word should not cause to much problems.
After all there are number of sites that are Japanese bike related and they use the term all the time .
