Okay, since the 3/31 thread sounded like this would be a viable idea, let's see how much interest there is in this ride.
I was up there at ACH today, going up to watch the noon WSBK round and saw 2 1098 and 1 MV coming down. Then I ran into a group of Thai guys on 1 999R Xerox, 1 999R red, 1 996 yellow and 3 999s. I thought I missed a Club Desmo meeting or something.
C'mon SoCal, let's do a beginning of April Duck ride! I also got another buddy bringing out his 999 Parts Unlimited.
9am at the Shell off Angeles Crest Highway (2 Fwy).
We can also go to the Rock Store on April 8th for maximum effect. This guy Nick rides his Tricolore up there every Sunday.

I take this to mean, little to no interest?

I'm interested...
I would love to re-gear the bike first but it'll still make it :)
Having a roar of ducs going up that hill will be sweet!

So how do you avoid Stout or any of the chippies? I really can't afford to get another ticket right now.

I've always ridden the speed limit, either 45mph or 55mph. My bike is stock except for the Underarmour wristband on the brake reservoir so there's no fix-it issue either.

Oh, another important tactic, I always let a big squid group leave ahead of me and let them attract the heat. With a pack of 15-20 guys decked out in Icon or Joe Rocket and riding modded Gixxers or YamaHondaSakis, they are bound to tie up the local gendarmes.
I have nothing to prove up there by riding past the speed limit. There's no trophy at the tree, I've checked. I just enjoy my 1098s and the sound it makes while I cruise the canyons with my buddies.

How do you do that?:dropjaw
Hard for me to stay below 55 up there :twisted
Actually as far as stout goes.. Last Sat. was perfect and never saw a single chippy..
I hear Sundays are the days to watch out for..

It's not so hard to go slow when you think about the costs involved. ACH is a double fine zone. The few hundred dollars and time it costs for a ticket is not worth it costs for me to go a few miles faster. I have also turned a 1999 RSV Mille into post-modern art up there.
I'd rather spend the money on more leather suits and the time sleeping.

I go there at 9am. We leave at 930am generally. Bring the ZX10R by all means!
