My vote is to merge these two forums. I find that I go into each forum since both forums are really about the same thing. I understand that the S has different wheels and suspension, but that doesn't really change what people are posting for the most part.

In addition to that I made a deposit on an R :moped today since that's really what I want. I hope if such a bike is built, it will not result in another forum.

Actually I'm thinking that all three should be together?

I agree with R1L, and when the 1188R comes out create it's own forum section.

Good idea, and as of now it would seem much of the same topics are probably being discussed between those forums. However, once we start getting owners I suspect the segregation might be a good thing. Only time will tell, but let's let it ride for a bit.

If, in the future, we see that ALL we are getting are duplicate posts, then the choice will be obvious.

Thanks, and suggestion noted :)

+1. And when the 848 comes out, it'll need it's own forum section, too.

Merge all three! Is there really a need to discuss the color or Öhlins seperatly?

Example, Amullo posted "1098 Q&A" in the S forum. I think that concers every 1098 interessted.

Say, why do we have seperate forums for 1098, 1098 S, and Tri-Colore?
I mean they're all the same bike and most people will mod their bikes way more than what the factory is changing between the models. So, if a 1098 S guy puts on a Termi system and paints his bike like an Italian flag, does he have to post in a different forum? It just seems like people may miss out on a lot of relevent information that applies to 1098's in general if they don't check all three forums.

Good idea, and relevant to some extent. There are however, other reasons things exist the way that they do. Feel free to post in any of the forums, but they will stay segregated for now. :moped

The thread was then closed. Discussion over.

I'd love to know the reasons "things exist the way that they do." The fact is the overwhelming consensus is that your iniital choice of segregating the models based on minor variations was wrong. How many more people have to weigh in on this to get a response?

I tell you what, I'll merge the forums when "overwhelming consensus" = 8 members out of almost 700. Thank you, Merry Christmas!

The site owner, designed the forum like this for a reason, and we are interested to see what traffic the forums have once all the bikes have arrived, it's unfortunate you don't like it this way, but also to bad.

With that said have a Great Christmas.

Hey......Just keeping the discussion open. If I can wait 3 months for my bike I can wait for the forums to merge as well.

Obviously I like the site or I wouldn't be offering my 2 cents on improving it. Maybe after the holidays some polls might be in order.

While I'm stirring things up, some other catagories might be in order.

Such as:

Ride Reports
Upcoming events
Vendors Section
General Equipment Section

Merry Xmas Everyone, Ciao.

I'm not trying to rude towards you, but as you clearly pointed out threads have been closed, because the Admins at this point feel the site is doing just fine and are not making changes.

I'm know that the Admins are considerate enough when a large change takes place members will be notified, and asked for their opinion.

Until then we hope you enjoy what was created here, as is.
