what better place to ride to on your first ride out than Starbucks...especially when it's freezing out? That's exactly what i did when i headed out at 7:30 a.m. in the bitter cold. After only 30 minutes of riding i had to head to my favorite Starbucks to warm up...

And some additional pictures from my first ride...i just noticed there's a little vacuum hose sticking out from the bottom...better go take a look at that after this...

No worries, it's the overflow line from the gas tank...

I couldn't help but laugh cuz I would've done the same thing, i.e. bitter cold with a brand new bike - temptation is too much.

Nice pics!

:1 I'd agree with that, but then as I've said here before I"m not a big fan of carbon fiber, so...

...and what's your insurance premium, limits, company, age, location, etc...

Not to start one of those threads or anything, but I was just curious how you're affording the insurance!

Nice pics. I can't wait for my Base also. I'm #1 at my dealer, maybe next week!!!:scooter

I think the base model looks the most "put together". The silver forks, swingarm, and exhaust blend well. If I get exhaust I am thinking Titanium might look better on the base than Carbon.

Are those reflectors mandatory in the US/Canada. I don't have them on mine here in Belgium. I wonder what other small differences their are over the different parts of the world

Looks great. Are you getting the crappy weather this weekend as well? I hope the roads get cleaned up fast. I hopeful mine will be here next week.

Great shots and Congrats!

It's supposed to rain/snow tomorrow so riding is out of the question...at least i got in a little over 100 miles today. Instead i'm going spend some time cleaning up the bike tomorrow...i'm looking forward to it since i'll be able to examine all the little details of the bike and spend some good "alone time" with the bike. :kiss

I just saw this pictures while going through some of the photos i took yesterday during my ride and i noticed how the sun was shining perfectly on the headlight which made it look really neat, so i thought i'd share it with everyone:

WOW. That is a BEAUTIFUL bike (definitely like the "all red scheme" over the carbon fender, etc.) I have a red base on the way and this makes it that much tougher to wait it out. Congrats on a nice machine!:notworthy :drool

yo,
that hot spot is off the mirrors within the headlight casing. it looks like the angle was perfect for the sunshine to hit and catch your lense...

I hope that reflector can be removed off the front fender without leaving holes and indents. The big rectangle doesn't really go well with the fender. I don't think the carbon fender on the S has a reflector.

The reflectors come on all the 1098's, all you need to do is twist them and they come right off with hardly any effort or leaving behind much if any residue.

You need to trim the reflectors off on license plate holder and forks. You also need to trim the overflow hoses. Mine were sticking down 4 inches. The pics do look great!

Gah.. I can't get my Duc yet OR ride any track days.. Pricks closed the racetrack out here over a year ago, and we still have no-go for racing unless we ship our bikes to one of the other delapidated tracks on another island.
