View Full Version : What do you think about 1098-Forum?
Just wanted some feedback, as we are entering our first week online. Feel free to be honest, I know it is impossible to please everyone. :Jiggy

Great site, it definitely keeps me busy at work :lmao

It's nice to find a place with new people who are focused on one idea. Once the 1098 bikes arrive, it will be THE place to be for the new bike.

Not everyone is excited about the bike, so it's neat to get away from the nay sayers. I wish there would have been a 999/749 forum back in 03 when I bought my bike!
This is cool!

I like everything except the lack of warning that this is not the www.ducati.ms (http://www.ducati.ms) website! That site directed me here and there's no difference in feel from the two websites, and nothing tells you otherwise except for the change in the address bar on my browser

I think that this site is Great! Especially with all of the other forums on the web it will be invaluable to have a forum solely dedicated for all things pertaining to the 1098. A place to post about a specific model in the DUCATI lineup without information getting "Lost" in the various sub-forums of other sites. So I say "THANKS" PHIL:beer

Thanks for the honest input here.....
To tell you the truth.... I designed this site and what I was going on was Phil telling me he liked one of my other sites that had a similar RED theme to it.... I took my other Red theme and we put a Ducati twist to it and this is what we came up with. I had never even heard of Ducati.ms until a couple days ago....
I pm'd Phil and we laughed for a little while at the similarities of the two sties. (Phil had never heard of that site either) I will note that this site does look a little better if I do say so myself. :lmao
So this was an honest mistake and not an attempt to try and copy any other site.
Because of this issue we may look into changing it up a bit......
Thanks again.... :beer

After looking at there site again, the only thing I see that is even close is the red color.... the format, buttons, icons, and logo's are all different.

Ah, don't sweat it man! :1poke We did have the forum up and running before we ever heard of ducati.ms, and that place is certainly huge :wflag I like what we have here as far as looks go, no need to mess with a good thing. I think what makes us different is that we are focusing on one specific model (for the most part), much like Rajin Cajun said.
Thanks to everyone for the feedback, it is appreciated :beer

I think having a forum dedicated to the 1098 is the right thing to do - Rock on guys! :badgerslayer

That's my thoughts too. Keep it focused and it will thrive :)
Ofcourse there are several other very good forums/sites too but as long as this stays focused on the 1098, it will certainly be for the best.
Keep up the good work
P.S: how about a button that shows only the "new messages since last visit" ? :) I think it will help a lot.

if you look at the top and the bottom of each page there is a button called NEW POST that is exactly what this button does..... :) :) :)

Its all good apart from one thing.
A lot of guys are saying it's great having a dedicated 1098 hang out, so why have a separate 'other ducati section'.
I know peeps on here have them including myself so why not talk about them over at ducati.ms.
Actually ignore me, I guess it's a cool area to talk non 1098 with others that are over here.
I'll get me coat

it is quite early to say!
however,
my first impression is that it is interesting, and it provides sufficient info about the bike!
