Used TTX shocks off 1098R

I have 2 slightly used TTX shocks off of 1098R's. These are the DU711 shocks they do NOT have hydraulic preload adjusters, they have double nuts for adjusting the preload (stock on the 1098R)

I will respring them for your weight as part of the price.

Don't know much about suspension... What does the "Hydraulic Preload Adjusters" do and would it make a difference for someone who is starting to track?
Also would these TTX fit a Base 1098 with no other necessary options?

Yes these will fit 848, 1098 base, 1098S, 1098R, 1198 base, and 1198S. all years.
