The forum was only my idea, and R1Lover's execution (couldn't have done it without his help). Now it's everyone here that is making it great! Thanks to everyone, and mostly to Ducati for producing a machine like the 1098 :beer

Here is how it happened... errrrr Actually I think I'll get the MSN logs... that would be funny...

In quick, it happened over MSN and a couple pm's. On a friday afternoon on a slow day at work - it started as an idea. By Friday at midnight it was up and running and members started rolling in.

Amazing what can be done when you have a great idea, Beer and some skills. :fact

This site is really home for alot of us here from the beginning. the site also remind me of the r1-forum in the 04r1 days, also recognize some of the people from there.Job well done to all that brought this forum to life.

Greg probably has enough $$ to buy ten 1098's, being that he is a well established pediatrician. For whatever reason, he decided not to because priorities in life changed. He was still a vital founding member and respected member of this community.

Same applies for me, I thought I would have had a 1098 by now, but for reasons known to myself and my family there isn't one in my garage yet. There should be next year though, time will tell. Until then, I'll continue to do my best to help (along with R1Lover and the mods) facilitate the success of this community, online and in the real world. Examples would be the charity drive we are working and helping DNA throughout the off season and into next race season. Or, maybe I should just drop everything and ban myself because I don't own a 1098?

you two are one the payroll so, you guys don't count! But if you want to ban yourself, phil, then can I have your checks? Besides, he racked up like two to three times as many posts as you guys in a fraction of the time!
It was amazing to me; I logged on one day and he was at nearly a thousand, go away for six months for training, and when I get back the dude had hit 6000 and then vanished into the night!
I log on nearly everyday to see whats new in ducati land and I'm still nowhere close to hitting gregs stride... truly he was a postwhore champion:D

gov't checks aren't the way to get rich, but the work is nice, and we get lots of free stuff too!

Mah Man, Van-man, I wish more guys would not hesitate to "Post Whore" and put their comments on here as it helps build the community and you get to know the personalities that much more. PLUS, by knowing a bit more of one's personality, allows someone like me to devise a Forum related joke that could possibly match the individual. (Just look how I had R1Lover humping a pumpkin, haha). Then again, I can only make a joke up if I like the person, as its all in fun.

I do miss Greg for real though, he did bring alot to this site. I now have no 1098 anymore either... .thinking I should be some administrator or something so I can get those fat checks!:poke
