For various reasons I want to sell my 2008 848. I have had the bike for 4 months now, and have modded it extensively. I have dumped a whole bunch of money into this bike, you wont find many like mine. Bike is in perfect condition, never down, always garaged. Mods are:
Ohlins FGRT 803 Road and Track forks
Ohlins DU-515 rear shock
Sato ride height adjuster
Kyle racing 30mm offset triple clamps
Leo Vince SBK full system
Ducati performance ECU
PCIII with custom map by West Coast GP cycles
BMC air filter
rear hugger, front fender, and tank protector
Ducati performance Gubellini steering damper
Ducati Performance bar ends, oil cap, and triple clamp nut
Ducati performance neoprene covered seat
Acculign rearsets
14t front sprocket
Ducati seat cowl
Voltage regulator recall and 600 mile service done
The bike is basically set up like an 848R or S would be. Horsepower bone stock was 117, with all the mods and custom map it is up to 124 at the wheel. The bike is lighter, steers quicker, handles better, and is much faster than a ordinary 848. The ohlins forks and shock, and the Kyle triples really transformed the handling, and the engine mods and custom map mean it pulls cleanly from any gear at low RPM with none of the fluffiness of the stock setup. 800 miles on the bike. Clean title, I have the title in hand. Never seen the track, only ridden on weekends around town or up in the canyons. One of the cleanest 848's you will ever see. Now for the price... I spent way too much on the bike (like I always seem to do with my bikes) I am into this bike almost $27,000. I know I wont get that or close to it, but I will sell for $19,500. It may seem like too much, but consider that a new '09 will cost you $16,500 out the door, you would then need another 8 grand worth of mods to get it this level. So believe me I am taking a huge loss here. For $19,500 you cant get a base 1198 either. This bike wont make sense to some people, but to others it makes perfect sense. This would make a great track bike or racer, or just ultimate streetbike. I will get another 848 when the time is right, I love this bike. A few pics, PM me if interested. Sale is not financially motivated, so please no low ball offers. Sorry for crappy quality pics, will try to get some better ones.

Definitely a great bike! Have you thought about parting it out and returning it to stock? you might be able to get more return on your $27K investment.

+1, that will allow you to get what you want out of it. Too many people cannot see the sensible reasoning of buying a bike that has this many mods and saving a lot of money in the long run.

hey good luck on your sale, but I got my 2009 1198 for 16600 OTD.
You need to part out the bike to lose the least amount of money.

Yes I have thought about parting it out, I will leave the ad up for awhile (I am not really in a hurry) if it does not sell then I will go with parting it out. I know I would see more of a return on my investment that way (as much as a bike can be called an investment) but to tell you the truth I wanted to avoid the hassle of doing all that. I will part it out if it doesn't sell, but for the right kind of buyer, this would be hell of a deal.

If I hadn't bought my 1098 I would've hit I-5 tonight and been there in the morning! Sweet bike...good luck with the sale - and I can relate to the pain of parting out the options - a big hassle...so I really hope you find a buyer who knows the value of this set-up and your bike sells as-is. It would suck to undo the hard work you've obviously put into this 848/almost GP!

Thanks for all the reply's, I may also be willing to trade for a local late model, low miles, 999r with Xerox or Fila livery. Maybe a very clean 999S too. Just throwing it out there in case anyone is interested.

Udate: 848 traded in on a 2006 999r Xerox- 600 miles on it, mint condition... I love the 999r, I dont feel too big for it, and the torque is amazing, like the handling, and the "exoticness" of the bike in general.
