Sorry, the thread title probably should have said "I'm the slow guy".
Hello, I'm Mike. I'm 57 and have been riding for 18 months now. I started with a '05 S2R and traded it in on a virgin '03 SS1000DS in Feb '06. Now I'm hoping that there will be an 850 version of the 1098. If not, I plan on ordering a 1098s.
My son got me started last year when he showed up with his '01 R1 CE and '00 996. After riding the 996 (after 6 months on the S2R) I decided to start trading up.
I've posted pics of all the bikes on Speedzilla, so won't repeat them here.
Glad this forum got started!

welcome
glad you have joined us
please feel free to post those images here as well
a lot of folks don't go to that forum often (me, included)
it wouldn't be "repeating" them at all

My next Ducati, but in a 850s version please. The problem is: how long should I wait to see if a 850 is to be made. If not, then I'll go with the 1098s.
