It is with regret that i inform the Aussies here, in particular the Sydney guys, that last Sunday Mark Van Heeswyk passed away as a result of a traffic accident, anyone that knew Mark or would like to pay their respects, his funeral service will be held on Friday, 1st August.

Time on Friday is 12 noon, King's School Chapel, Pennant Hills Rd, Parramatta.

The DOCNSW is organising an escort and there will be a strong Ducati presence at the request of his family, anyone wishing to ride, please PM me and i wll put you in contact with our VP for details.

RIP Mark, our thoughts are with your family.

Also, of a slightly lesser tragic nature, but still very serious, one of our other group was involved in an accident a week before this, and is still in intensive care, i understand a car turned in front of him without indicating, Nigel Pratt for those of you who know him, is a great guy, and a very careful rider, so this was a huge shock for all of us here, our thoughts are with Nigel & Siita, and pray for a speedy recovery.

Mark was fairly heavily involved with the DOCNSW and various events and fundraisers, family have requested no flowers, but instead a donation to the Moorong Spinal Unit at North Ryde, for whom we do a lot of fundraising...

My thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of both. Tragic....Please read the following. It has been a comfort to me. I lost my beautiful son six years, three months, and a day ago. His birthday is 2 AUG. 24 years ago....

ALL IS WELL

I have only slipped away into

the next room.

I am I, and you are you,

Whatever we were to each other,

that we are still.

Call me by the old familiar name.

Speak of me in the easy way

which you always used.

Put no difference into your tone.

Wear no air of forced solemnity

Or sorrow.

Laugh as we always laughed

at the little jokes that we enjoyed together.

Play, smile, think of me,

pray for me.

Let my name be ever the household word

that it always was.

Let it be spoken without an effort,

Without the ghost of a shadow upon it.

Life means all that it ever meant.

It is the same that it ever was.

There is absolute and unbroken

continuity.

What is this death but a

negligible accident.

Why should I be out of mind

because I am out of sight?

I am but waiting for you,

for an interval,

Somewhere very near,

Just round the corner.

All is well.
