How about, trying to put a Dealer Listing together for Ducati's in the US and Canada. Than rating them as more members come on board with experiences from different dealers on buying to service.

Here is the reason why. In Canada there is not one good Ducati mechanic that I can suggest or recommend to anyone.

Spoke to my wife regarding this and now once again the 07R1 is back on the table.

good idea, but a large undetaking for sure. Plus, people often only remember the bad experiences, but hopefully we could keep things on a civil, objective basis. (not likely)

Def something to look into as the forum grows

The Ducati website has to have a Dealer listing we could start there.

And Phil we could set up some simple rules for the thread so things don't get out of hand :)

I'll start some research tonight :cool

I have an 04R1 with too many mods, and if I was to sell it I loose my shirt with it.

So selling is not an option, buying a new bike is :)

Biga, I thought the same thing until I found someone who wanted to buy my bike without any mods at all.... he wanted it completely stock. So I took all the mods off and put them up for sale (on the R1F) for 70% of what I paid for them. Within a week they were all gone at or real close to the 70% price.

I ended up settling at a price of $8000.00 for the bike and all the mods came to $1800.00, a total of $9800.00 - I could not believe what had happened and I was a happy camper. I only paid $10,599.00 for the bike in Feb 04 and sold it in March 06.

So if you do decide to sell it, make sure and strip it of all the mods. :beer

good point R1L, a stock bike often can demand a decent price, especially on a trade-in.

R1L, what you say is true, but what do you do when you have 2k in motor work as well?

The bike is paid for the parts are paid for, so selling it is not a choice I would consider

I have made so many crazy decisions on selling my other modded bikes, that even my wife has had enough. Therefore the 04R1 is in her name and she will not sign the papers to sell the bike. Besides there is nothing wrong with having one or two bikes in the garage. :)

Ya, under those circumstances, it's better to keep it for sure.

^ $2K in the MOTOR? Fook! List some droolable goodies, please.

^^ Actually... I've been informed that a person who has multiple bikes is absolutely insane.:lmao

(BTW - IMVHO, the '04-'06 Yam R1 is the most gorgeous non-Italian bike EVER. Mine is a Raven Black. What's yours?)
