THE RULES IN THIS SECTION CLEARLY STATE THAT YOU MUST HAVE 25 POST AND BE A MEMBER FOR AT LEAST TWO MONTHS BEFORE YOU ARE ALLOWED TO POST ITEMS FOR SALE. THESE RULES ARE IN PLACE FOR A REASON AND THAT IS TO TRY AND PROTECT THE MEMBERS HERE FROM SCAMS, WHILE THIS IS NOT FOOL PROOF, IT'S ALL WE CAN DO AT THIS POINT.
There are many new people who don't seem to care or can't read, one of the two. In order to avoid having to police this section every day, I will be setting up access restrictions soon based on the above rules. Until then any post that does not meet the above rules will be deleted without notice.
Thanks for understanding.

Thanks for the support guys... while we can't protect the members 100%, we can try to help with what we can do.. :beer
I hate scammers... and they are everywhere on the net... if we make them wait a little before posting the chances are they will go elsewhere... or at least that's my thought.. lol
:beer
Have a safe weekend everyone! :beer

There are other mods here then me... it could have been me or someone else too.
I run a search by post count and remove accordingly... so it may have been deleted too.

I have 20 posts, but have been here since April 2007.
Is there some latitude allowed on account of that?
I usually spend more time reading than I do posting.

Hey,
I'd like to say for the record that there are some of us who CAN read who are NOT scammers and who have enjoyed the forum for quite some time but don't have the 'required' 25 posts yet but who just happen to have some nice parts for sale that would appeal to other forum members!

R1 Lover, I can understand your desire to protect members from scammers but how about some how incorporating dealings with Forum sponsors as a background reference means??
I have made purchases through the forum from Dan Kyle, Motovation Accessories and Motowheels, along with many correspondences with Dan over various issues. My money and buisness is good enough for them but I resnt being portrayed as untrustworthy just because I haven't got 25 postings in the forum! And this is not aimed solely at R1, more at those that jump in and are free to pass judgement on others so freely

If you look at all the postings I'm sure you'll find one or two where the minimum post rule has been overlooked. Typically if someone has been here awhile their ads don't get deleted, or at least I don't delete them. As stated, there is latitude.
A background check with forum sponsors is a little over and above what the intent here is. If it's a concern you can simply ask about it and most likely Rhett or whoever will let the mods know not to delete your posts.
EDIT: Oops, I just realized this thread is closed to further posts. If anyone has further comments/questions about it I'd suggest starting a thread in the site news section. This thread wasn't intended to be a discussion thread and as such some posts have been removed from it.

What ad? I don't see anything of yours that's been deleted. (Yes, mods can see deleted posts).

I tried to post a WTB thread but got a message about not having 25 posts. Am I doing something wrong?

nobody cares what you are selling in the classifieds here as long as its related to the 1098 and/or Ducati's. As long as you meet the requirements of two months and 25 posts, you are welcome to post up. But, old ads and ads that state that the item is sold, will be deleted. This is so that buyers can find items easier in this forum. In the end this helps everyone, including people trying to sell stuff.

Your ok, the rules is in place to try and prevent what was stated in the first post... the fact that you are asking first and also it only being one item is fine with us. Feel free to post it. :beer
There is no way we can make the rules cover every situation, so if you have any questions please feel free to ask. :beer
