View Full Version : Fender Eliminator/Vent mounted Indicators
So, has anyone done the fender eliminator with the indicators in the vent (The limited edition one). I'm concerned with the legality of it here in Aus. I'm not phazed on the relocation of the plate as its visable from a 45. angle, the indicators however look totaly sus.....i dont think a cop would be too happy about that, arnt they suppose to be visable side on as well as fore and aft???????

I have recently mounted them, sorry no pics right now. they are high quality and look great. although you may not see the indicator itself directly, when it blinks at night, the entire rear side of the bike blinks, it looks good. not sure how bright it is at day still havent seen it yet, working too much... not sure about the legal issues in Aus..

I made my own - cost about $15.00 U.S. But here, at least in this state, m/c aren't required by law to have turn signals.
Mounted some large round LED's in the rear vents and made a bracket out of 1/8" aluminum bar stock.

X27, i have the Competition Werkes kit, with the plate at the rear, and the indicators in the vents, they are plenty visible and bright enough, doubt you wuld have any issues....
Hey there guys.... my local dealer at Artarmon in Sydney has said that to install the vent mounted indicators, you need a bracket built to hold them in the underseat section. As for legalities on these, apparently, the only pre-requisite is that your indicators are meant to be 300mm apart (as i got a defect notice on my 748 for having integrated rear brakes and indicators - and he was a prick of a copper!).
OZDUCATI - did you build a bracket or mount to existing subframe??
Cheers boys!

I have just fitted these in the vents and they are brighter than the LED's built into the CA integrated taillight swapped lenses out of the CA onto the factory LED's after the CA shat itself as i wanted the smoke lens
OK Lads - just spoke with Shawn at Competition Werkes and he said he would do the indocators on their own for about $35US plaus shipping!
SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET :thumbup
Mine should get here next week!
They come with the indicators and the brackets to mount as well!

If you're worried about the legalities just make sure you keep all the original equipment, if you get pulled for the mod change it back, take it over the pits, then change it back again after it passes.

Just be careful that the copper who sends you to the pits doesn't take a pic of the mod, then sends that on to the inspection station with his other paperwork !!

Duc, that rear end looks sweet - where'd you get that rear hugger ? How much ? Is it a special one for that Termi system ? How many more questions can I ask ? :eek
So i think that if you are worried about YOUR kit, can you imagine what I must be thinking then???
At least, yours in visible from 45 degree angle!!
Good luck X
