I live in des moines, iowa. the closest ccs event is st. louis @ gateway international. I won't b there but its fun since its next to the lou.

I think you're about what, 4 hours from Peoria IL? Been a long while since I've been to Des Moines. How far are you from the Newton, IA track? There's track days there this year. (think that's the name of the town).

I am about 5-6 hours from Peoria (great city) and about an hour from newton. Be careful if you go to the trackdays in Newton... it's a very dangerous track. Armco barrier lining the cement walls is not cool. the moto-st race they had last year sent 2 guys to the hospital because of the wall. turn 1 (i think) is part of the oval and full tilt at 100mph.. slide out and hit the wall. one of the top teams in moto-st dropped out of the race because of the danger.

That one, fortunately, isn't on my list this year. I'm riding at Blackhawk Farms on the IL/WI border, autobahn in Joliet, and Putnam Park.

From the vids I've seen Blackhawk is pretty dicey too. Lots of trees and friggin guardrails of all things. Going to take it easy there for sure. Got six days there this year.

Good news though! The wife approved of me getting another used bike to take on the track this week!!!!! She agreed that while I'm learning it's not the best idea to take the 1098S. No sense in destroying something as beautiful as the 1098S before I learn to enjoy it... So I'm shopping around for a used gixxer now.

Here's the days I bought (all NESBA). I may get on some more SBTT or trackaddix days as well, depending on how things go this summer and how hard I get hooked.

wish I could help you out on a used racebike but I wouldn't put you on my '06 zx-10 I have for sale. eeeekkkkkkkk! I have raced blackhawk and it is a lot of fun. I know a lot of guys that work for NESBA so I might have to hit one of those events. The autobahn is an excellent track... make sure on the section where the two tracks come together you are either all the way to the right to go air born or all the way to the left for less effect... it's a photographers dream section... lots of fun. You could find a used racebike on the CCS forum.
